MY BELIEFS AND REFLECTIONSI believe in working closely and collaboratively with the leadership team, administration association, executive, division office staff, department staff and school based staff to develop a shared vision with long term, big picture perspectives. Sharing and understanding the district’s vision and goals is critical in planning for meaningful and effective use of teaching and learning. Involvement in providing feedback and direction at the various leadership levels across the organization in how the district can move forward in implementing the vision helps ensure that all tools and strategies around learning are used in powerful ways.
The establishment and leading of various focus groups that act as advisory groups to myself and the rest of the leadership team allows us to facilitate a collaborative process of gathering input into how emerging educational resources can be used in the learning environment. Strong coordination and fostering a relationship among technology, assessment, curriculum, instruction, student services, business services, transportation and facility areas is essential to ensuring we work jointly to achieve district goals. Ensuring that the various stakeholders understand change processes and change theory is important in order to effectively deal with ambiguity, expectations, and communication issues.
